Porcelain Tile

Installation Process

Porcelain tile must be installed using a polymer-modified thin-set to achieve the right bond between the tile and the substrate. When laying tile onto backer board, wet the backer board using a spray bottle filled with water before spreading the thin-set.

Care and Maintenance

For regular cleaning, just sweep away debris, wipe with clean water, and thoroughly dry. For deep cleaning, use a pH-neutral or mildly alkaline detergent. Use nylon or plastic scrubber, if needed.

There are four basic types:


Durable and stain resistant carpet fiber available, when treated with stain protection. It is the choice for residences with pets and children and or those who entertain a lot. Ideal for heavy traffic areas such as hallways and stairs.


Has a luxurious look and feel. Provides great value for homes with a normal amount of traffic.


Olefin offers stain and moisture resistance. Best suited for loop pile construction or high, very dense cut piles.


Chosen for its natural beauty and natural soil resistance qualities. But not completely stain resistant. Well constructed wool carpets will look great for along time.

Large Tile Flooring

Large Tile Types

Large format tile is considered to be square or rectangular tiles larger than 12×12, including popular wood look porcelain planks in sizes like 6×24 and 6×36. They are durable, and because of their size, fewer are needed per space, meaning fewer grout lines making cleanup and maintenance a breeze.

Installation Process

Larger tiles are much easier to install than small ones. Larger tiles are commonly used for bathroom walls but are great for kitchens and other rooms too. The smaller 1x1s are going to take longer to set, so choose a small pattern.

Care and Maintenance

Do sweep or vacuum surface.Do mix water with tile and grout cleaner per the manufacturer’s instructions and apply to tile surface — next mop solution and rinse thoroughly with clean water and wipe your floor dry.
